Why I started TapInfo

Draft: Musa to review and rewrite in his own words

I spent seven years in enterprise sales. I met hundreds of people a year at conferences, dinners and client offices, and I watched most of those introductions disappear.

It wasn’t for lack of trying. I’d come home with a pocket full of cards and good intentions. A week later, half the cards were in a drawer and the other half were names I couldn’t place. The conversation, the reason we’d met, the thing I’d promised to send: gone.

Digital cards replaced the paper. They still treated a person as a set of contact details. And the NFC cards I tried stored a link that worked forever, for whoever was holding the card, with no way to switch it off.

So we built TapInfo around a different idea: people aren’t contacts. Your card is just one way into your identity, and every introduction should keep its context: who, when, where and why.

We’re building it carefully. Every security control is published with its real value. Every feature says whether it’s live. If something isn’t ready, we say so.

If you’d like to talk, I read every message at [email protected].
